Being able to list my lifers seen for a specific trip is possibly my #1 wish list item. Now, the only way to do this is via a sightings report; but I don't want to list all my sightings.

Why not add a function in the Trip Report template: "list ONLY lifers seen on this trip."

Less desirable, but better than nothing, would be to be able to highlight  or otherwise indicate (with an asterisk, etc.) "lifers seen this trip" on the standard Trip Report.

     Thanks.

I actually now see there is a prior thread requesting this, with four pages of entries, and no final resolution, so I'm not the only one

I am just wondering if this has been added in version 5? If so, I may just upgrade Thanks.

    Hi,

This has been a feature in BD since v4.0 I believe.

It has been rolled into the Sightings report however, not the Trip report.

The header will provide a count of Lifers, among other things, and your sightings will be highlighted if they are World Lifers, Location Lifers or Annual Lifers.

Let me know if I can clarify any of this for you.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Unfortunately this isn't what is needed. I have version 4.0.1.1.7 and I use this feature but its not exactly what I want...this doesn't give you a concise list of ONLY lifers, but just shows them highlighted in the much longer full sightings list. So for a long trip this could be 10 pages of listings instead of a nice one page list of just lifers for a trip.

Not sure there's anything else particularly urgent to me in 5.0 so I guess I'll just stick with the version I have---just waiting for the 2017 Clements update!

    Hi Janet,

Sorry I didn't read far enough back in the posts to realize you were asking for a list of only the lifers.

There is a way to get this list you ask for with a little bit of effort, and it exists in v4.x also.

    1. Be sure to turn on highlighting for World Lifers in your Sightings Report
    2. Generate report preview
    3. Now save the report to Text format
    4. Open the text file with a text editor and you will see that your World Lifers are tagged with a "[w]" mark.

Now, depending on your text editor and its capabilities, you can have it only show rows with "[w]" in it or strip out rows without the "[w]".

The result is a list of just your lifers from the trip.

You can even open the file in a Spreadsheet editor such as Excel and do the same sort of thing if you are more familiar with this tool.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but a small workaround.

    fyi

    Jeff

Thanks Jeff, yes that's what I have been doing but its a lot of extra steps. I hope one day you will add it to the reports directly--it wouldn't seem that it would be that difficult.
