Is it possible to bulk import checklists (outings) from eBird to BD, or does each one need to be done individually? If a bulk import is possible, where can I find instruction for doing such? I have watched the instructional video, and currently understand the process for importing a single eBird checklist.
In preparation for the move, I have started to populate locations in BD. Anything else I can do to speed up the import process?
Thanks for posting.
Note, there is no need to populate locations in BD ahead of the import. If a location is imported that BD does not know about, it will ask you what to do with it.
So, you have a bunch of downloaded eBird checklists that you would like to import as one file? In eBird, there are ways to download all of checklists. But I think it is an all or nothing prospect.
So, if you are wanting to just import a few files downloaded from eBird, you will have to ...
That should do it.
Let me know if I can assist further with anything.
Thanks for you recommendations.
I have about six months of eBird entries I’d like to import – the rest are currently duplicated in BirdBase, which will be my next monster import task
Great. Good luck Nate. And let me know if I can assist with any of this.
Not sure this got sent : on a previous import i (regrettably) clicked "do not ask again" about matching locations on import from eBird. Now I can't figure out how to enable that again so all my locations wind up in "Orphaned locations".
It resets on every import. So, any location being imported that is not recognized will get prompted. Else it goes to the matching location.
