With Version four (advanced)   I used to have 10 advanced icons

With version five (advanced version) I now only have 8 advanced icons ...

    what has happened to:

     a)  Thingy Editor       and

    b)   Taxonomy Editor ?

    Hi Jude,

This is documented in the new features section of the user guide. They have been deprecated.

    • The older Taxonomy Editor and Thing Editor have been removed. This functionality has been replaced, where used, by newer, more user-friendly windows already present since v4.0 and v4.1.
    FYI

I have read through all the new features section and watched the video for V.5.
OK .. Taxonomy Editor and Thing Editor have now been removed.
So how do I add a new specie
So how do I add a new common name and select it as my preferred name
I can not find where to do this any more.

    Hi Jude,

These features have actually been around since 3.7 or 4.0.

For adding a new species to a taxonomic list, you use the Taxonomy Viewer (F8). Load your taxonomy and press the "+" button in the window toolbar. Hint: you can also add directly from the Keyboard Sightings Entry window as well using the "Add Thing" button.

Adding/setting new common name for a tax list, also use the Taxonomy Viewer. Navigate to the thing you want to change the common name for and right-click on it for a popup menu.

Let me know if I can assist further.

OK ... I have never used that add a specie through the Taxonomy viewer.
I can now see where you can add another name by using the Alias Names Editor
