I have Birders' diary v3.6.
Yesterday I successfully added a number of sightings and printed a report. Then when I went to add another sighting I got "Run Time error '13' Type mismatch." ll other functions are OK.
I found an old posting on this forum that recommend deleting some registry entries. I did this but the error is still there
Thanks for posting. This old error had to do with a bug in Windows. I wrote some code to check for this error and work around it in v4.x and later.
Were you using Checklist or Keyboard Entry when you got the error?
Can you point me to the post you read about changing the registry entries?
The answer to those two questions may allow me to figure out which registry entries you need to delete to fix your issue.
Thanks for the info. I neglected to ask if you can start BD now and enter sightings? Or do you get the error again? If so, which Sightings Entry are you using?
I am confused now. When you click on "add"? What window are you on? Sightings Entry Setup? Keyboard or Checklist Entry window? What?
That's the key.
Thanks. In that case, the previous instructions should have cleared up this problem.
Can you please double-check again to make sure that you have removed all "frmSightingsEntrySetup*" entries from "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings" in your Registry as per the instructions above that you referenced.
Then, after selecting and deleting them, try to restart BD and Click the "Add" button.
In that case, the only solution I can think of would be to remove all keys in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Birders Diary\Settings".
This will cause BD to forget your recent settings (window position and size) and such, but it will still function properly and should get you past this problem. It will start remembering everything from this point on again.
Let us know please,
