I am trying to figure out how to combine two different checklists. For example, I am taking a trip to Australia, but only visiting Northern Territory and Queensland. Is there a way to combine the two checklists into a single one? I tried creating a new checklist (QU+NT) with parents being each state, but it returned "no data found". Maybe I missed a step?

I used to be able to do this with Avisys using Z-list. Hoping there is a way to do it in BD.  I am using 4.0.117

    Hi Janzin,

Of course. I think you went about it in reverse.

Create a new location as a child of Australia; name it "QU+NT".

Add this new location as a parent to Queensland and Northern Territory locations.

    That will do it.

I'm looking at previous forum discussions to learn more about how to do things in BD. In this case, to produce a checklist for a trip to two states, you had Janzin create a new location of QU+NT. I assume that means that all records of species that are entered will have that same location (the custom and broad QU+NT) rather than an indication of where specifically it was seen, right? (Or is this instead just to create a location filter for the checklist?

(I'll have further questions once it's confirmed that I'm clear so far.)

    Hello Tapaculi,

    Thanks for posting.

No, the lattter; this is instead just to create a location filter for the checklist.

Let me know if I can assist further.
