I have been entering my moth sightings and there are some moths that are not listed.  I then hit the button that states "Add Thing" and when I am entering the common name the exact name of the moth I am looking to enter comes up.  I cannot add the moth at this point because the program states that it already exists but it still will not come up during my checklist.  One moth that this is happening with the the European Honeysuckle Moth.  Is there a way around this?

    Thanks.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for posting. It appears you're using keyboard entry method . This and other moth names may be omitted based on your location filter setting in sightings entry setup. It doesn't think the moth name you're trying to enter is associated with the location you have selected in the location filter. Try leaving the location filter empty so that all names are included in the list of available names. This will allow you to enter any name, scientific or common, for a sighting.

Let me know if I can assist further.

    Jeff and Andy,

The other alternative is to use the checklist editor to find which locations are listed for the "Thing". If your desired location is not in the checklist list, add it to the list if you feel it belongs there. That is generally why this happens. If you do add a location, I recommend using a location that already exists in the Location Maintenance window. That is the simplest approach. Otherwise you may have to create a new Location.

Leaving the location filter blank worked. Thanks for your help.
