BROWSER ISSUES - FireFox and Chrome - Sunday, September 22, 2019

Please note the following issues:

  • Any recent version of FireFox does not allow you to Paste images from your copy buffer into the Forums Text Editor.
  • The latest version of Chrome now appears to be working correctly.
  • As of 1-SEP-2019, Uploading Attachments to your posts no longer works.
  • Currently Internet Explorer and Edge browsers seem to work correctly in all aspects.

We will be addressing these issues by migrating the site to newer/different technology in October/November time frame. Thanks for your patience.

When I imported the file you sent me

"BDMOBILE-SIGHTINGS-IMPORT-4382"

the import log read:

Thing does not exist. Skipped.

Thing does not exist. Skipped.
Thing does not exist. Skipped.
Thing does not exist. Skipped.
Thing does not exist. Skipped.
Thing does not exist. Skipped.
Thing does not exist. Skipped.

yet all the sightings were imported

I found this confusing

what does it mean

thx

Dave

Hi Dave,

This is confusing me also. The answer is always in the details.

I think perhaps the log file is appended to previous import messages. So, these may be from previous import.

But to be sure, please eMail me your import file. Also tell me (or include screenshot of) the settings you used on the Import dialog.

Then I can try it on my end and let you know what is going on.

Thanks

Jeff

Update:

The SightingsImport.Log file is created anew on each import. It is created in the directory that contains the file you are importing.

The Open Log button opens the last log file of whatever you imported; e.g. Sightings, Checklist, Locations, Taxonomy, etc.

So, assuming you clicked on the Log File button after importing your BD Mobile sightings, it should ONLY contain messages from that last import. Note: If you selected multiple files to import when prompted, then the log file will contain all messages from all log files imported.

So, with this info, I still need to see your import file and your settings on import.

If you deleted your import file after import, easy enough to call back up that Completed Outing from BD Mobile, Finish Outing, Send and Close and include me in the email address.

Thanks,

Jeff
