AviList 2025 Released!

The new Unified Global Bird Checklist has been released by Avilist.org, and this taxonomic list is now available for Birder’s Diary. AviList is a collaborative global effort to produce a single current taxonomy for the birds of the world, along with key information on taxonomy and nomenclature.

Created through unprecedented cooperation among the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (Clements/Cornell), the International Ornithological Union (IOU), and Birds of the World, unifying their taxonomic teams, global expert networks and data resources into a single, authoritative world bird checklist.

IMPORTANT: Numerous performance and functional upgrades were implemented to fully support the new AviList taxonomy. To ensure compatibility and optimal performance, upgrade to Birder’s Diary v6.3 (Build 10) before installing AviList.

Thank you for your feedback, suggestions, and continued use and patronage of Birder’s Diary! You have made it the World’s leading solution for Birders and Naturalists! We work hard to keep it relevant and up to date 24×365!
