Birder’s Diary Mobile for Android – Download App

We are offering the Birder’s Diary Mobile App for download on our site as opposed to the Google Play Store. Why? The amount of effort required to maintain a Play Store account along with the red tape and constant management is more effort than it is worth for this Free companion App to Birder’s Diary. It turns out that this method is just as easy and much simpler to manage and maintain.

Instructions

1. IMPORTANT: You will probably have to uninstall BD Mobile from your Android device if it was first installed from the Google Play Store. If you attempt to install from here and get an error stating something like “Not Installed”, this is the solution.
   1. Before doing this, be sure you have uploaded all outings to either the Cloud or your email. As you will lose your data.
   2. You will also lose your settings. There are two places where you may have custom settings:
      1. Main start window, wrench icon on the bottom right. Remember those settings so you can reapply after updating.
      2. Submit Outing window, wrench icon on the bottom right. Remember those settings so you can reapply after updating.
2. Open a browser (e.g. Chrome) on your Android device to this page.
   You can scan this QR code with your phone to open this page if you are viewing this page on your laptop/desktop.
   
3. Download the Birder’s Diary Mobile for Android APK file (Android App Installer File) by clicking the blue button below.

4. You should be prompted to allow your browser to install an App. Be sure to allow it. You may also be prompted to scan and allow other permissions.
5. Continue with the installation.
