Uploading Your Files to Technical Support

If you are uploading your database, be sure to ZIP/Compress your database file first (C:\Birder’s Diary\data\database.mdb). Then upload the ZIP file.
(See instructions below for Zip/compressing your database.)

Zip/Compress Your Database for Upload

This method works on the latest versions of Windows. Your setup may vary slightly.

  1. Open Windows File Explorer (WinKey+E)
  2. Navigate to the C:\Birder’s Diary\data\ directory.
  3. Locate “database.mdb” in this directory; NOTE: it may only show as “database” if you do not have file extensions turned on.
  4. Right-mouse-click  on this filename. In the popup menu,
    1. Look for “Send to… | Compressed (zipped) folder“.
      In other versions of Windows, it can be “Compress to… | ZIP File“.
    2. This will Compress your database.mdb file and create a database.zip file.
    3. Upload this “database.zip” file using the upload feature above.
