The annual everything order information says:
"The product and all taxonomic lists in your database will remain active as long as your annual license is valid."

That suggests taxonomic list I install stops being active when the license expires in 365 days. Is that true? I didn't understand that going into this. It's a subscription? I thought the annual license gave me free reign at the store for the specified time. I could use these things indefinitely.

I didn't know it time-limited those things I download and install under that license. Does that mean the program version 6 goes away after a year too?

Yes - this is true. Any taxonomic lists that you use without a specific license for that list, is going to expire with the Annual Subscription. But as long as you keep the subscription renewed, you have access to everything for that year.

Yes, to the first sentence. No to the second.

Yes. I am happy to refund your annual license if you would rather purchase a la carte, as you have in the past. Just let me know.

And sorry for the confusion.

Are you saying that the V6 program I purchased ALSO expires after a year? But if I purchase it a la carte it doesn't?

Yes David. That is correct. I will attempt to make that clearer on the Purchase page. It is stated a bit clearer on this point in the Licensing Explained page.

Those pages state the annual everything license expires at one year. To my mind, that means the ability to download and use everything ends at that time. They does not make clear that the ability to use what I've already installed ends also.

At this point, I've already installed V6, and I still want it, and want to keep it. I don't want a taxonomy that is going to go away in 365 days. So, I would appreciate a refund for that part.

No problem David. I have just refunded your Annual License purchase in full. You will get a notification email from PayPal shortly to this effect.

In addition, I am sending you a complimentary v6.0 license that never expires to make up for this frustrating time for you. I will send that info via email also.

That's very kind of you. Thank you. I was able to convert the license to a la carte with no trouble.

I too had these concerns and reverted to a la carte.

Jeff's thought out and detailed response can be seen in that topic:

FYI: I updated the text on the page, in the Online Store, that describes this license. I gave an example of how it works and what happens if you let it expire. I hope this helps clarify the idea behind this and who would benefit from such a license every year.

Thanks.

That wording makes it clearer. I did not know that if I e.g. had BD 5.3, went to an annual subscription for a year, using BD 6.0, then reverted back to a la carte, I would still get to use the BD 5.3 I had originally. That is a relief.

I suppose one would reinstall BD 5.3 and enter the original license number.
