[Solved] Application-defined or object-defined error
I receive the above error message when I try to save a newly generated world life list. Any ideas as to what has happened?
Thanks for posting. Looks like you are running v5.1 Advanced - correct?
When you say you tried to save a newly generated report, do you mean...
- You tried to save a report template using the Save As button on the Reporting window?
- Or, that you are clicking on the Save button on the Preview Report window? If this, what options did you select before clicking Save?
- Or perhaps something else?
Can you reproduce this error? Does it happen every time? Different reports and report types?
This is a strange error, one that I can't remember having seen before.
So, let's start here and let me know please.
If possible, the best thing is to get a screen shot of the error and your window before you get the error and post both here. You can paste images into the editor using Ctrl+V.
H, Jeff! Correct--I'm running 5.1. By "trying to save," I meant your option 2. Specifically, I attempted to save the newly generated report as a pdf by selecting "PDF" and punching the "SAVE" button. The error indeed happened several times in a row, even after re-booting the computer. But it seems to have "corrected itself"--I can't make it happen now. Thanks for your reply. I will let you know if it comes up again.
Sounds right David. That is a System-type error, not an error with Birder's Diary. Surprised the reboot didn't fix it right away, but glad it is good now.
Thanks for the update.
