Hello Jeff,
I updated BDV7.0V19 to v22 and found the procedure has changed. In the past, the update was initiated in BD in the Help, Check for Program Updates and subsequent popups.
With v22, I was directed to the BD downloads page and had to install it as if it was a new version of Birders Diary.
Was this your intention?

Thanks for posting, and thanks for noticing this.
Yes, this was intentional. Build 19 was a transitional build that was necessary to move Birder’s Diary from the old installer to the new installer. Build 19 is the only build that redirects you to the Downloads page to manually download the installer.
Starting with Build 22 and going forward, updates are much more seamless. Birder’s Diary will automatically download the new single-file installer and run the setup program for you. There should be no more redirecting to the Downloads page.
The new installation/update process is also considerably faster — roughly one-fifth the time the old process took.
