This species shows up in the Taxonomy (IOC 2017) but not on the keyboard or checklist entry screens. I have tried several locations including MACQUARIE ISLAND, WORLD.
I also tried scientific name (leucocarbo purpurascens) without success.

Thanks for posting.
It looks as if you are running v5.0, correct.
When I bring up my copy of v5.0 with IOC 2017, I see that this bird is attached to Macquarie Island.
Here is the Checklist Entry window
So, you must have lost your link of this bird to this location.
There are many ways to correct this. The easiest is to use the Checklist Entry for Macquire Island. When the Checklist window comes up, without this bird, click on the Add Name button. Enter that bird's name and it will be added to your checklist so that you can check it off.
You can also open the Checklist Editor (F9) and use the Thing Checklist on the right-hand side to add any location you want to this bird.

Thanks Jeff. I opened the checklist editor and saw that Macquarie Shag was actually listed. When I returned to the sightings entry, it was now listed. Perhaps just opening the checklist editor repaired the link?
