I evidently entered an incorrect sighting of an Eastern Long-tailed Hermit in a 2004 trip to Panama. How do I go about deleting that sighting?

Hi Connie,

Thanks for posting.

Deleting a Sighting is pretty straight forward. Follow these steps.

  1. Open the View Sightings Setup window, under Features | Sightings | View/Edit Sightings in the main menu.
  2. Search for your Hermit sightings
    1. First, click the Clear Data Filter button to remove previous settings.
    2. In the Name field, enter "Long-tailed Hermit" - there is no "Eastern Long-tailed Hermit" in Clements 2023.
    3. Clear all selected taxonomic lists except for Clements 2023
    4. Click the Continue buttton

  3. Up comes the View & Edit Sightings window.
    1. Select the Sighting that you want to delete by clicking anywhere on that row in the Grid.
    2. Now click the red "X" button in this window's toolbar.

That will do it. Let me know if I can assist further with anything.

Thanks Jeff, that took care of it, I saved your instructions as it's probably not the last time I'll need to do this!
