Hi, kids.  I'm not sure what happened, but you can see on the screenshot that all my functions across the top are disabled. My numbers are still current on the bottom.

Hi Bill,

This indicates that your License isn't registering as valid. This could be a corrupt license file. What antivirus do you have? Norton, Avast, Kaspersky and others are notorious for doing this. Windows Defender is the safest.

Do you get an error when starting BD? Something like "Error with license file"?

What happens when you open the Licensing window (Ctrl+L)? What does it show?

Have you had any hardware errors or other computer issues?

I have reset your activations on your Annual Everything License, reapply that and see if everything returns to normal.

Let's start here. Please let us know.

Hi Bill,

That's important information. Thanks.

This means that your license file is corrupt. Easily fixed.

  1. Download and run this program. This program will replace your existing license file with a new blank one.
  2. After running this, start BD by right-clicking on the desktop icon and choosing 'run as admin', because you will need to activate your User License again (your taxonomic list licenses should be fine).
  3. Then exit and restart BD normally.

If you don't have or don't remember your User License ID and password, send me an email to support@BirdersDiary.com and I will return that info to you.

Please update me that all is working.

Hi Bill,

If you would rather, I can jump onto your computer and take care of all of this for you. Just send me an email to support@BirdersDiary.com to schedule a time to do it.

Let me know.
