Just a general heads up for those of you who use Malwarebytes.

I am assuming that I got an update to Malwarebytes recently, subsequent to which, I was unable to open Birders Diary. I don't use BD every day so I am not sure when this started. Anyway, Malwarebytes gave me a msg about riskware or some such nonsense. The solution was for me to go to my Account page in Malwarebytes, click on the Allow List tab and then add birdersdiary.com as an allowed website.

Thanks for the update Brian!

Anti-virus software such as MalwareBytes and Norton cause me 95% of ALL of my support issues. Although you don't see it here in the forums, because I usually get emails on this.

My stance remains the same on this. Windows Defender is FREE, comes with Windows and is the best in the industry. And it never has a problem with BD. I don't know any admin folks in the IT industry that use anything other than Defender. It starts running automatically as soon as you remove any other program from your computer.

Thanks again for the update. I have seen an uptick in MalwareBytes issues for the last couple months. I try to contact them and get them to reassess. Never get any response back.

Just an update here...

Many customers have seen an update in MalwareBytes (MB) now complaining about BD. We have not been able to figure out how to get MB to ignore BD... bad program!

But, removing MB fixes the issue. And I highly recommend getting rid of MB by uninstalling it. As soon as you remove all other antivirus software, Windows Defender starts running automatically. Never a problem and it is always free.
