[Solved] New tax not on sighting entry setup

Upgrading to Birder’s Diary 7.0 does not deactivate your previously licensed taxonomic lists.

Activating the ABA 2025 license and importing the ABA 2025 taxonomic list are two separate steps. ABA 2025 will not appear in Sighting Entry Setup until it has been successfully imported into your database.

After running the ABA 2025 installer, did Birder’s Diary prompt you to Auto-Import the new taxonomic list when it next started, and did that import finish successfully?

Please post screenshots of:

1. The License Information window showing the ABA licenses.

2. The Sighting Entry Setup window with the Taxonomic List dropdown open.

Also include the complete version and build number displayed in the Birder’s Diary title bar.

You can use the Windows Snipping Tool: press WinKey+Shift+S, drag around the area to capture, and then paste the screenshot into your reply with Ctrl+V.

Those screenshots will tell me whether ABA 2025 was activated but not imported, or whether something else is occurring.

Are you getting any errors when you start BD? E.g. License File errors?

Let's start here. We will address the missing ABA 2023 activation after I get this information. We will resolve this, I just need some more info.

Thanks for the update, Anne. I’m glad you were able to complete the Auto-Import and that ABA 2025 is now working.

If ABA 2023 is still showing as not activated, please let me know and we will address that separately. Otherwise, you are all set.
