Hi Jeff. I'm afraid that I have created a problem for myself when trying to add a new thing to my Clements 2022 Taxonomy File.
I imported a number of files from e-bird and there were a couple that had an entry that Clements did not recognize. Namely, Southern/Northern Giant-Petrel. So I tried to create a new thing with that name.
Later I decided to just remove these new entries and I deleted the thing that I had created.
However, now in the quick search bar, that name/thing still shows up and it generates a fatal error if I select it.
Also, my life list in BD is now 3 counts higher than in e-bird.
Hi Brian,
Thanks for posting.
See here for how to add Slashes, Spuhs, etc.
To fix the Quick Search bar, refresh your Name Search table.
- View | Options, Special/More TAB
- Click the Refresh button (Refresh SmartSearch Table)
- Exit and restart BD.
- Now test your Quick Search field.
Also, now check your Life List. If that is still incorrect, please tell me exactly where/how you are see the wrong counts.
Thanks.
Thanks Jeff. All is good with the Quick Search Bar after doing the refresh/exit/restart.
Lifelist count - The world background lifer bar still show 3 more species than ebird does even after recalculating and restarting BD. I will look at the Report option to see if there is a way to display new lifers since a specific date and then check that against the ebird equivalent.
Some background
Just returned from a month long trip where I recorded 30+ trips in ebird and I imported them last week into BD.
Ebird shows 2374 lifers and the BD lifer bar shows 2377
I will try to find the discrepancy manually or perhaps just restore my database and then re-import the ebird trips.
Thanks for the update Brian. Glad all is as expected. Sounds like a great trip.
Take care.
