[Solved] Rich Text Editor

While trying to enter sightings, the Rich Text Editor window opened.  I am unable to type anything into comments.  The words go immediately to the Rich Text Editor.  I finally checked the reduce button and now I can't find the Rich Text window.  I cannot make new entries or comments.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for posting.

What version of BD are you running? (e.g. v5.2 Build 38)

Are you using Checklist Entry or Keyboard Entry mode when entering sightings?

Just guessing, but if using Checklist Entry, double-clicking on the Comments field in the Grid opens the Comments Editor. So perhaps you might be doing that. Instead of double-clicking, just a single click will allow you to enter comments directly into the Grid.

The reduce button

will create a small window at the bottom.

Click the restore button to show again.

To remove the editor, click the "X" button in the editor toolbar.

Let me know,

Jeff

Thanks. I’m using version 5.1.85. I found the reduced Rich Text window, eventually. Not positive, but I don’t think I am double clicking. I use the Tab to go from field to field.

Tabbing should not cause the Editor to popup. Only Double-click. But if you find otherwise, please post back here and let me know.

p.s. You purchased the Annual Everything License, and this entitles you to upgrade to v5.2 without further purchase. The upgrade is simple. Just go to the Downloads > Program page on this site. Download the installer and run.

Thanks,

Jeff
