I'm trying to add a checklist for a new location I have set up. However, each time I try to import the checklist thru the copy paste buffer I get the attached run time error'91 and the program closes. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi David,

Thanks for posting. And sorry for this problem. As always, thanks for the screen shot.

I see that you have the annual everything license. So can I assume you are at v6.1 Build 29? If not at Build 29 of v6.1, please upgrade and try again. There have been a few updates/tweaks in this area of late and it may affect this.

If it still fails, do this please:

  1. Once you put the list of bird names into your copy/paste buffer
  2. Open NotePad on your PC
  3. Paste the contents into that.
  4. Save the file and email it to me: support@birdersdiary.com

Also, please give me another screenshot where the Import/Export window is not hidden so that I can see your settings on that window.

Let's start here. We will figure it out shortly. Thanks.

Jeff,

Thanks for the prompt response. I just updated my copy of Birder's Diary tp V6.1 build 29 and then tried again but getting same error. I have emailed you the text file and a screenshot of the import.

Thanks again,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks much for your assistance.

I am able to reproduce your problem. The fix will be forthcoming in a future release.

For the meantime, I thought I could figure out a workaround, but I am not finding anything quickly.

Give me time to work on this and get back to you with a solution. You will hear back from me no later than tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks and sorry for the hassle.

Jeff,

No worries and not urgent for me. Just preparing for a mid august trip.

Thanks again,

Dave

Update: After some research, I don't see how this ever worked in the past year or two, but it did. This is a complicated issue. It will take me more time to resolve and get a fix out.

Please stay tuned.

Found the problem. Not really sure how this ever worked, but I know it did.

I have it fixed. But I am in the middle of the final v6.2 push. Can you wait 1-2 weeks for v6.2?

fyi

Jeff,

Glad you found the problem. No problem at all to wait a few weeks.

Thanks again,

Dave
