I got this error when I hit Add Sighting, I think, in Sightings entry.

BD system resource

Even though I could not hit Add Entry afterwards (had to hit Cancel), it did add the sightings.

Wow! Haven't seen that before David. So, the error message means just what it is saying, albeit a bit ambiguous about which system resource was exceeded.

Generally, this can be memory, page file, or disk space.

  • How much memory on this machine? You can check from the Task Mgr.
  • Google "how to set pagefile size on Windows <your-version-here>" to evaluate your current size and see if more is required.
  • You can check your free disk space using Windows File Explorer.

In general, however, a reboot will cure it. But the problem is most likely not BD using up the resource, but another process has used it up and BD is just trying to get its share.

What happened after you exited BD. My assumption is that you went on to enter sightings with no problems. Did you reboot by any chance?

Let me know,

Jeff

I have 16 GB. 2432 MB virtual memory. I did no more entries. The machine has been rebooted since that happened. It is working OK now.

If it happens again, try to open the Task Manager and check Available Memory and disk space. Take note of what else you might be running; e.g. video editors, etc.
