Hello Jeff,

I am trying to add a new thing to my personal "Plants" taxonomy but cannot enter the new name. In the "add thing to taxonomy list", I type Coulter Pine (new to my list) and it defaults to Coulter's Lupine. I disabled smart search (Alt F5) and type Coulter Pine but it still defaults to Coulter's Lupine.

I tried to fool it by entering an alias (Big Cone Pine) that I hoped I could edit later. Instead I get a hybrid entry named Coulter Pinebig Cone Pine. When I try to backspace or delete part of the name it defaults to Coulter's Lupine.

See attached screenshot

How can I fix any of

Hello Al,

Ctrl+DownArrow disables SmartSearch. Not Alt+F5.

Question: How did you come up with Alt+F5 – do I have this incorrectly documented somewhere?

Try that and let me know please.

Take care and stay safe…

Jeff

p.s. Don't you just love these new Forums!? So functional. Maybe its just me as the person that spends most days in these forums. 🙂

Ok - corrected in v5.2.1 and later.

I had updated this text way-back-when in v4.1. However, forgot to update the code to use the new text. You found it! Thanks!

Jeff

Here is the new text.

You beat me to the answer. I used Ctl+DownArrow and it entered correctly. Glad to make your day.

All is well again in my world, Al

Jeff,

Suggest making Ctl+DownArrow and Ctl+UpArrow in bold for emphasis just like Alt+F5.

Regards, Al
